Hello you there reading this! My name is Amanda and I am documenting the adventures I have while I live in a camper with my 2 cats, Luna and Lucy. I'm from Rochester, New York and there is nothing like the cold and the snow we get up there, to inspire you to pack it up and go exploring somewhere else.
That's Luna exploring snow for the first time, she was a little clumsy. We found it safe to say the cats would not object to a warmer climate this winter either.
Wanderlust
After a trip to Italy in high school, I started saying, "nothing beats the real experience." Growing up with an Italian heritage, I had heard many stories about the cities and structures and history of Italy. But standing with my hand on the Colosseum, or being lost in the streets of Venice, I realized none of the stories I had been told growing up came close to the awe I felt while being in so many incredible cities. Afterwards, my travel bucket list began to grow and I became focused on setting goals so that I could actually check things off of it. The more places I visited, the more the desire to learn about and see the world grew.
Cat Fam
The joy of living with animals was another life experience I craved, so as soon as I was able to adopt pets I did - Luna and Lucy! My black short haired cat and long haired tuxedo cat! I met these sisters in November 2020, but my travel dreams were long from finished. Before them, I did not know much about cats. I read and researched and tried my own ideas along the way as methods I found were improved upon - but we have made living on the road with cats no problem at all!
Math Teacher
I am and love being a math teacher. And in case you thought I was kidding - what did 0 say to 8? (Wait for it, think about it...ok drumroll) nice belt! What? Have you heard that one already? Don't worry, I have more.
Just a group of students studying to be math teachers - my shirt says "Come to the Math Side, We have Pi."
I actually grew up hating math like many others I know, so I can empathize with people who go, "Oh gross, math? I hate math!" My goal is to help more people not have that associated feeling with math! But I digress.
On that Note, Let's be Friends
I am sharing what I learn along my journey because that's just it - I'm still learning! None of us chose to be born but here we are anyway on a planet hurtling through space and one day we'll all be long long dead and no one may even know we are here! With that in mind, I want to get as much out of this experience as I can! I know I like feeling joy and want to chase that feeling while soaking up gratitude for this planet, my life, and the people in it.
